Currie Gilmour & Co. About Us

About Currie Gilmour & Co.

Currie Gilmour & Co. was formed in 1981 by Connell Currie and Jamie Gilmour who had been partners in the Inverness based firm of Squair Middleton & Co. then in existence for more than 100 years.

The present partners of the firm are Jamie Gilmour and Neil Campbell.

Jamie Gilmour is a law graduate of Edinburgh University and McGill University, Montreal. He holds a certificate in Employment Law. He was for a time honorary legal adviser to the Scottish Association for Mental Health. He was a temporary sheriff from 1988 to 2000 and was appointed a part-time Sheriff in 2003.

Neil Campbell is a law graduate of Strathclyde University. Originally from the Highlands, he has practice interests as diverse as civil litigation and Crofting Law. He has been a member of the Family Law Association since its inception in 1989. He is actively involved with a number of Christian organisations.

The partners operate a policy of "small is beautiful" providing all clients with individual attention. The firm aims to provide clients with an efficient quality service centred on understanding client needs and expectations; providing sound practical advice and keeping clients informed about their business as it progresses.

The firm has no assistants but has an extensive computerised administrative system and a committed secretarial staff to cope with the volume of work generated by the two partners. To date, the bulk of the legal work comes to the firm through recommendation by existing clients satisfied with the tasks done for them.
